No file selected yet.

Files are processed in memory and are not stored by the application.

Privacy note: DICOM files may contain sensitive health metadata. Use this tool only for files you are allowed to process. The PNG output contains the rendered image only, but burned-in patient text inside the image itself cannot be removed automatically.

About DICOM to PNG conversion

DICOM is a medical imaging format used by scanners, viewers and clinical systems. This converter renders the first image frame and exports it as a PNG file for easier viewing or sharing.

Some DICOM files use specialized compression or multi-frame data. If a file cannot be rendered, try exporting it from your medical viewer first or use an uncompressed DICOM image.

What this image converter supports

The current Image Converter focuses on DICOM to PNG because DICOM files are not easy to preview in a normal browser or standard image viewer. The converter renders the first image frame and returns a PNG download that can be opened with common image tools.

The page is structured so additional image workflows can be documented clearly over time, but the current public converter is intentionally focused on DICOM rendering and PNG export.

Does the PNG keep DICOM metadata?

The PNG output is a rendered image, not a DICOM dataset. Structured DICOM metadata is not copied into a new medical file. However, text that is visually burned into the image pixels will still appear in the PNG.

Can this be used for diagnosis?

No. This is a technical conversion tool for viewing and workflow convenience. Use appropriate clinical software and qualified professionals for diagnostic work.
